I noticed you are using YGET template from Pligg. If this is a drupal install, will any drupal template work?

This is not yget. I used spreadfirefox theme of Drupal and customized it to have a look of yget. The great advantage of using Drupal over Pligg is that writing templates in Drupal is far easier than it is in Pligg. You should be able to customize any Drupal theme looking at this spreadfirefox theme I wrote.
