I was experimenting with the access options. My username had an extension that I wanted to reserve only for site admins so they could be easily identified.
So in the access control I entered the extension in my username thinking that it would stop new users signing up with that extension on their usernames. I then logged out so that I could create a new username with that extension to make sure it would deny it.
So i tired it and it did deny it, but now it won't let me log back in with my admin username as it has the banned extension. I guess it turns out that it applies to the log in form as well as the sign up form. I don't have any other user accounts on the system, so i'm locked out.
Is there a short cut to getting back into the admin area? There's no content on the site yet, so worst case scenario i'll have to delete it and install it again. I'd rather not though if possible.
Solution: I just deleted the access rule from the database and I can log in now.
